Hard luck to the u19s basketball team, who lost narrowly today to St Declans, Cabra. They fought hard against a very strong team, losing in the end by just one point. Tomek Flynn, in particular, played a fantastic game, scoring an incredible 32 points! Jack Troy also had a great game playing up, sinking two three-pointers in the last 30 seconds to bring the closing score so close.
Congratulations to the u16s basketball team, who won their opening match today against Declan’s. David Antonov, Oisín Mullin, Jacob Bardauskas, Jack Troy and Bailey Whelan were fundamental to the win, with strong teamwork on offense and lots of hussle on defense. Special mention must be made to Seán Shanahan, a 2nd year, who made his debut playing up with the u16s. He scored a three-pointer almost as soon as he stepped on the court, and also impressed defensively.
