TY October Announcements – Pics

Hi Everyone,

Thankfully things are beginning to open up and restrictions on our movements are easing somewhat.

I have a few announcements about trips and events that are forthcoming.

On Thurs 7th and Fri 8th, (this week) the 4 classes (at different stages) will be attending an exhibition in the EPIC museum and then a tour of the Jeanie Johnston Coffin ship.

The class pairings are;

4P and 4A for Thursday’s trip

&

4U & 4L for Friday’s trip.

The cost is 14€ and can be paid at the venue on the day.

On Tues 12th and Thurs 14th the students are booked in to Kayaking on the Liffey, https://citykayaking.com/

Class groupings will be 4P & 4A on Tues 12th and 4U & 4L on Thursday 14th

The cost for this trip is 25€ and payments can be made on our school easy-payments app on the school website. Payments must be made by Friday 7th of October to ensure placement.

On the 19th and the 21st of October Shane Carthy, Dublin footballer is coming in to talk with 2 groups about mental health and his journey. Shane will repeat this talk on the 21st. This will be free of charge.

There are hikes set provisionally for the 21st and 22nd around Howth head. Details to follow. Again this will be free of charge.

There will be a Forensic fun workshop on the 3rd of November for all classes spread over 2 sessions.

This will encompass the JFK assassination and looks at Ballistics & gun shot residue (GSR), photographic analysis, fingerprints, autopsy & the main theories / links with history.

This will be €8 per student and again payments can be made on the easy-payments app on our home webpage.

*As always, please keep an eye on our school app, MS Teams and our Twitter page for updates.

Many Thanks,
John Devine
