A big well done to our 6th Year Spanish students, who were fantastic hosts to a group of visiting students from Manor House on Wednesday afternoon. We invited the Manor House girls to join us for an afternoon of Spanish conversation, with the aim of practising the language, building confidence and making new friends along the way.
Every four minutes, students moved to a new partner and struck up another conversation, with plenty of Spanish spoken and lots of smiles and laughter throughout! As well as being a lovely social occasion, it was a great opportunity to practise for the Leaving Cert oral exam in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Ms O’Dea and I were so impressed by the enthusiasm, positivity and standard of Spanish spoken. It takes courage to step outside your comfort zone and chat in another language with someone you’ve only just met, and every student rose to the challenge. Well done to everyone involved; we’re already looking forward to the next session next week!
